But before the market has voted, printing all 3,000 copies is essentially using warehouse space to vouch for the design

I'd recommend structuring the data into at least 8 columns

Before launch, if the layout, copy, barcode, capacity label, and regulatory text could all still change, I'd put digital printing at the top of the list

The judgment call doesn't have to be complicated. Ask one question: after this print run, will the layout still change?

If yes, go small first. If probably not, then talk volume

How does proofing time shape the launch decision?

Print lead times rarely get stuck at the press. They get stuck at confirmation

A new product's packaging, from design file to shelf-ready, goes through at least these gates: file check, digital proof, color proof confirmation, paper confirmation, finishing confirmation, and final packing

What procurement needs to watch is total time, not just press days

Say the printer quotes 3 working days for printing, but internally you spent 2 days confirming color, 1 day revising regulatory text, and another day adding a channel barcode, launch just slipped roughly a week

I split rush situations into 3 categories

・Rush is doable: there is lamination, die-cutting, or gluing, but the supplier confirms they have schedule room and internal sign-off happens in one pass

・Rush is not advised: specialty paper unconfirmed, die untested, color requirements are strict, regulatory text still being revised
